HANDHELD by AWize

AWize

AWize is a rapper working across hip-hop and grime, with an experimental ear for beats. The writing comes first: storytelling, detail, and verses built to hold up on the tenth listen rather than the first. The name is about wisdom, but the kind that comes from hard luck, not the kind that gets handed down.

Earlier releases include Salem and FRONT STREET with Eze and Grimm Dreamurr.

HANDHELD

HANDHELD was recorded on a ten-pound handheld microphone, fitted around long shifts and early starts, and it doesn't pretend otherwise. It's an EP about ordinary life under pressure: work that costs more than it pays, a past that's hard to put down, and the people round here who never get listened to. It sounds rough because the point was never polish. Works must run.

The first single, Honda Jazz, is out now.
